—Planned Giving

Include Storehouse in your giving plans.

Have you considered supporting Storehouse through a planned gift?

In 2016, Storehouse started with one small problem and a belief it could be solved. Today, we're Michigan's leading redistribution warehouse, moving tens of millions of dollars in goods to nonprofits, schools, and teachers across the state each year. A planned gift is a way to make sure that work keeps multiplying long after today.

All planned gifts should be designated to Storehouse of Community Resources (Tax ID: 83-4354698).

Storehouse accepts gifts of cash, securities, and real estate through the following:

WAYS TO GIVE

A Gift in a Will or Trust Naming Storehouse in your will or trust is a lasting way to extend your values into the future, ensuring communities across Michigan keep shifting from poverty to prosperity.

Retirement Plans Consider a gift from your tax-deferred retirement assets, including an IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or pension.

Charitable Gift Annuity or Remainder Trust Fund a life income arrangement that pays you (or you and a loved one) for life or for a term of years. Benefits include a partial income tax deduction now and potential capital gains savings when funded with appreciated assets. What remains afterward goes directly toward resourcing Michigan's nonprofits, schools, and teachers.

Charitable Lead Trust After a term of gifts to Storehouse, remaining trust assets pass back to your family and loved ones, often with meaningful tax advantages along the way.

Life Insurance Donate a paid-up life insurance policy you no longer need, or name Storehouse of Community Resources as a beneficiary.

Cash Gift A straightforward gift of cash today comes with an income tax deduction and the certainty that it goes directly toward getting the right resources to the right organizations.

WHY IT MATTERS

Every gift Storehouse receives multiplies. We don't educate children, build affordable homes, or train workers ourselves; we resource the organizations that do, across our three core pillars: education, workforce stability, and affordable housing. A planned gift means your legacy keeps doing that work for generations.

RECOGNIZING YOUR GENEROSITY

To honor supporters who choose to include Storehouse in their future plans, we will:

  • Invite you to VIP Storehouse events, including warehouse tours and expansion milestones.
  • Recognize your generosity in our annual report and on our website

Your legacy can keep essential goods moving to Michigan communities for generations

Here’s what your dollar helps make possible.

Businesses donate brand-new surplus goods to Storehouse. Your gift helps cover freight, broker fees, staff, warehouse space and the work needed to get those goods to nonprofits and schools.

Every dollar donated helps Storehouse distribute up to $100 worth of goods, including household essentials, school supplies, personal care products and building materials.

Our 700+ member nonprofits and schools access those goods at a fraction of retail cost. For every dollar a member organization spends, it receives an average of $47 worth of products—helping stretch its budget to serve more people.

Your gift helps get donated goods into communities that need them.

100:1

Storehouse's procurement power. Every operational dollar donated enables $100 in brand new goods to enter the Michigan nonprofit ecosystem.

47:1

What nonprofits experience. For every dollar a member organization spends at Storehouse, they receive $47 in retail value products for the families they serve.

Your dollars flow through 700+ Michigan nonprofits and schools.
Here is where that impact concentrates.

—DESIGNATED GIVING

You decide where your generosity goes and
how hands on
you want to be.

Most giving asks you to trust that your money lands somewhere meaningful. Designated Giving is different. At Storehouse, you can designate exactly where your funding flows — by geography, organization type, or specific cause area — and we track every dollar and every outcome against your intent.

Pathway 01

Designated Funds

Tell us who you care about: Kent County housing nonprofits, Title I schools in West Michigan, workforce programs serving returning citizens. We create a designated fund in your name, route your dollars accordingly, and send you documented impact reports showing what your fund purchased and who it served.

It's not a form. It's a conversation and a commitment.

Pathway 02

Shop to Give

Want to see the impact firsthand? Bring your team to the Storehouse warehouse and do the shopping yourself. You walk the aisles, select the goods, and designate which nonprofit or school receives them. Storehouse confirms eligibility. You make the choices. Same principle as a designated fund. Your hands on the outcome.

An experience as meaningful as the gift itself.

—READY?

It starts with a conversation.

We don't do online donation forms for funders. We do relationships. If you're ready to talk about what a partnership with Storehouse could look like - whether that's a designated fund, an operational gift, or a warehouse visit - reach out. We'll take it from there.
