In 2016, Storehouse started with one small problem and a belief it could be solved. Today, we're Michigan's leading redistribution warehouse, moving tens of millions of dollars in goods to nonprofits, schools, and teachers across the state each year. A planned gift is a way to make sure that work keeps multiplying long after today.
All planned gifts should be designated to Storehouse of Community Resources (Tax ID: 83-4354698).
Storehouse accepts gifts of cash, securities, and real estate through the following:
WAYS TO GIVE
A Gift in a Will or Trust Naming Storehouse in your will or trust is a lasting way to extend your values into the future, ensuring communities across Michigan keep shifting from poverty to prosperity.
Retirement Plans Consider a gift from your tax-deferred retirement assets, including an IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or pension.
Charitable Gift Annuity or Remainder Trust Fund a life income arrangement that pays you (or you and a loved one) for life or for a term of years. Benefits include a partial income tax deduction now and potential capital gains savings when funded with appreciated assets. What remains afterward goes directly toward resourcing Michigan's nonprofits, schools, and teachers.
Charitable Lead Trust After a term of gifts to Storehouse, remaining trust assets pass back to your family and loved ones, often with meaningful tax advantages along the way.
Life Insurance Donate a paid-up life insurance policy you no longer need, or name Storehouse of Community Resources Foundation as a beneficiary.
Cash Gift A straightforward gift of cash today comes with an income tax deduction and the certainty that it goes directly toward getting the right resources to the right organizations.

Here's what happens to your dollar.
Storehouse acquires brand new corporate surplus goods at approximately 4% of retail value. That procurement power is what makes the math work.
When you fund Storehouse operations, every dollar you contribute enables us to bring in $100 worth of goods - household supplies, school materials, personal care products, building materials - that would otherwise sit in a warehouse or go to landfill.
Those goods flow to our 700+ member nonprofits and schools, who access Storehouse at deeply reduced cost. For every dollar a member organization spends, they receive $47 in products. Your funding powers the infrastructure that makes both numbers possible.

Tell us who you care about: Kent County housing nonprofits, Title I schools in West Michigan, workforce programs serving returning citizens. We create a designated fund in your name, route your dollars accordingly, and send you documented impact reports showing what your fund purchased and who it served.

Shop to Give
Want to see the impact firsthand? Bring your team to the Storehouse warehouse and do the shopping yourself. You walk the aisles, select the goods, and designate which nonprofit or school receives them. Storehouse confirms eligibility. You make the choices. Same principle as a designated fund. Your hands on the outcome.
